The Colonial Walk in Dalhousie for students
 Dalhousie Area        20 Nov, 2019

Heritage denotes our past and children are the future. Only if they can appreciate our antecedents can they truly become custodians of our legacy.

Calcutta Heritage Collective has organized guided walk for children for two days - Day 1 -  20th November - The Colonial Walk in Dalhousie for students from Indus Valley school , Day 2 - 22nd November - The Colonial Walk in Dalhousie for students from St.Lawrence High School . It is to create awareness about the city’s-built heritage and for building pride in them. The walk is proposed during the heritage week from 18 - 25 November 2019. Both the walks are conducted by Ms. Navpreet Arora,

The Colonial Walk serves as a wonderful introduction to the city - it takes one through the how's and whys of Calcutta to retrace the steps that gave birth to this city. Considered the Second City of the Empire, proud, elegant and so Europeanised - many grand edifices were built in Calcutta back then. These buildings stand tall and stately, some having withstood the vagaries of time, others striving to stay put and many that lie in glorious ruins but with many a tale. The guided walk, in an area having the finest examples of colonial heritage, is a reminder that Calcutta was built on lines of London.
